You're getting married! HUGE congrats!! Of course there is no winner, it's about you and your partner having the best day possible, the one that you've always dreamed of, with unique touches to make your special day stand out from the rest. If you choose to have a registry office ceremony, we aren't going to judge...it's your day after all.
In the past, registry office weddings were an alternative choice for those looking for a non-religious ceremony, and often for second marriages. Fast forward a few years with the rise of the celebrant and your wedding day can be as extravagant, or as intimate as you like.
In England and Wales, celebrants cannot yet legally marry couples. The legalities must take place in a registry office, often a day or two before the big celebrations.
Once the formalities have taken place, let the fun begin!
A registry office wedding ceremony will often be very brief, with a fixed structure and no personalisation. This type of service will demonstrate the same format for every couple who marries. A set script is followed and extra "touches" such as music, readings or poems will be minimal.
THEN, there is a celebrant led wedding. You can have your ceremony anywhere (with the relevant permission of course, let's not go gatecrashing fields or anything) and you can include anything...your favourite music, readings, personal vows. You can laugh, you can cry, your dog can be a ring bearer, your sister can do a cart wheel....your ceremony can be just how you want it to be. A ceremony to celebrate you as a couple, your love for each other and your story. It can be beautiful and elegant, it can be like a comedy sitcom. It's your day and I am here to work with you to create the most beautiful, unique ceremony to reflect your love as you embark upon your new journey together.
